Trinity of Matrix

Long time no post! Been so caught up with projects, and life in general, just haven't had the time to post until now. These are from last week's drawing club. More on the way soon!

Carmen Miranda

My red and yellow dancing ladies with bananas on their heads! The drawings on top were 5's and the rest I believe were 10's, from this past drawing club session.

Ye Be Warned!

Arr, Mister John Tucker was a swashbuckling pirate at the ol' drawing club last week. Aye, an amazing storyteller, he be. He told a tale of shipwreck, searching for treasure, and congratulatin' himself with a wee bit o rum.

How do you say 'friggin awesome' in pirate talk?
Anyway, these were done with brush pen, red colored pencil and guache washes.

Betty Page

Here is my latest set of drawing club sketches from this past Thurs. Of course with a theme like this, it was PACKED. Always a lot of fun and a lot of cool stuff came out of it. Check out thedrawingclub.com's blog to see what others did. Bob normally posts them Sun night/mon morning.

Bonnie

These were also from a drawing club session, just experimenting. Bonnie, from Bonnie & Clyde. She sits, she waits, she keeps sitting, has a drink, then KILLS you!!

Pin Up Girl

These are some old pinups I did from life at the drawing club.

The Little Elf

One of the story books I did for APE was "The Little Elf." It's a Christmassy poem I've been holding onto that I finally put in book form. The little elf has a HUGE obstacle he has to overcome...well two, his gigantic feet. :) Here are 2 vignettes from the book..

Welcome!

Ok, so I've finally jumped on the blogging band-wagon! It's more fun to surf blogs these days than anything, and seems easier to update. I'm inserting the blog into my ‘sketches’ portion of my website so, here are the sketches previously posted; I'll post more stuff soon.
Six Shooter was an awesome theme at the Drawing Club with John Tucker, who really knows how to bring a character to life. He is just amazing at what he does and I love drawing him.

This was an Aerobics Instructor character, with another great character model here in LA, Stacey Jack. These are all 5-7 min drawings.

An old sketch of a belly dancer with ink and white pencil. I just still like this one.

There are always so many interesting people to draw at Denny's.
