Denny's Sketches

These are a little old but I still think they're funny. Diners are one of the best places to sketch people.

this one on the bottom is SOOOOOO Good!
there is an unself-concious strangeness to it which i believe allows the drawing to get to the heart of the matter. the roll of the shoulders, the way the hand grips the sandwich. so good. you know what i mean? there seems to be a quickness to it that allows you to move past the fussiness of correctness in drawing (which i am the most guilty of) and get to the correctness of the action and the moment. love it.
i like to say these kinds of things, not because i'm any kind of expert but, more to engage everyone in a discussion. it's nice to stop in and say "nice sketches" but, i want to say why i like it. you can agree or disagree. right?

haha thanks John. I think thats why we love children's drawings so much and why they are so charming; because they don't worry about how correct they're drawing something, they're just plain drawing it, it in the moment.
Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about either, but you're right; this blog could use some discussion. :D
That drawing personally makes me hungry. His ear looks edible.
